The Greatest Swordsman
I am not going to make the blog post today all about current events. But it is sad when one of the heroes from a childhood movie passes away. Val Kilmer passed away due to health related issues. He was only 65. It’s sad and it does make me want to watch some of his work again. Specifically my favorites of his, Willow and Real Genius. Mad Martigan was my absolute favorite, and I watched Willow so many many times. So not all about this but I do raise my coffee cup in tribute this morning and give thanks to the memories.
On the comic, it felt nice to have Lu back in his regular gear and I enjoyed drawing Sundays comic quite a bit. I have some plans for the coming storyline and am looking forward to how well my hands can implement my brains schemes. More about Tir Na Nog and the land of the Tuatha De Danann coming up. It gives me a chance to study up on the subject as well. Going to be fun. I don’t want to spoil anything so that’s probably all I will say about the coming strips.
I am still reading Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, I find that mornings after journaling and coffee is a very relaxing time to spend looking at his thoughts. What’s funny is I am new to this philosophy, to stoicism but only in a sense that I had not read the book before. I had a poster on my wall in high school with a Marcus Aurelius quote on it. And I know he didn’t make up the philosophy, I am mostly amused by the past and present lining up. Most of the tenets of Stoicism have been part of my operating system for 3 decades at this point. Buddhism is taking a little more time to learn, to understand. This all makes me sound far too cerebral at the moment.
I am going to put up a picture of Dag in the shop to illustrate the default size of the sticker, think that might help. Plans right now are to continue to add Lu and then expand the cast into more stickers. Probably some group poses as well. I have a stack of the Dag stickers and they are really cool, very cute and the temptation to stealth tag a few places in public is strong. I am sure Dag would appreciate that sense of mischief.
Thanks for reading folks, check out the comic if you have not, keep an eye on the store and enjoy your week.
